The Unexpected Pep Talk
While trying to find a way to relax to prepare for the
upcoming week, I started thinking to myself that I needed a little inspiration
or something like a pep talk to make the upcoming week prosperous. See working
in the entertainment industry it cannot only be filled with excitement but also
with tons of stress and very long nights. Sometime you stop and ask yourself is
this really what I want to do, and then that one thing happens and you say to
yourself “no other job could make me happier”. So on my search for marketing
tips and advice for the week I can across a very interesting video that I now
listen to at least once a day.
Sometimes the biggest amount of
inspiration comes from the smallest moments and things in life. That is exactly
what “I Think We All Need A Pep Talk” by Kid President did for me. This is the
link for the video http://www.ted.com/talks/kid_president_i_think_we_all_need_a_pep_talk.html
While watching the video there were a few key points that
were mentioned that help me feel a little relaxed and ready to push forward.
One of the things that were mentioned was “Don’t stop believing in your dream
unless your dream is stupid. Then you should get another dream. Get a better
dream and keep going, and going, and going”. This helped me to realize that
entertainment was my dream and that I just needed to find other ways to stay
inspired because there is no other job that I can see myself doing.
One of the last things that were mentioned in the video
was “Life is not a game. If life is a game aren’t we all on the same team? I’m
on your team be on my team”. This is something that in the entertainment
industry can be forgotten very quickly especially if one is not in it for the
right reasons, they will always see the opportunity to look out for team me. I
have decided that I would be wise to constantly enforce the thought process
that nothing is done without a full team effort.
